Project Runway

While reading sewing blogs, some people mentioned project runway so I wikipedia'd it. I then went on a search to buy the DVD to see what it was all about. Watching from the internet in this part of the world could be heartbreaking, you will prefer PHCN.
It was fun to watch and educating. Before then, I never knew what it meant t drape let alone see how it  was done. So thanks project runway. I only got season one and two and where it was found in DVD store and was in the archive collection. They even found it strange me asking for it. I will still get the others in time. So has anyone watched it? Please gist me.

I have been AWOL  for a while now. I was quite indisposed but I'm okay now. I saw a jumpsuit like this on burda and was wondering how on earth it was made. Thank God for YouTube.

Uzuri Skirt and Blouse

Hello all lemme start by saying that today is my birthday! Yay! Pause for the screams..... Ok I continue, hehehehehehe lol. Well. This blouse and skirt was self drafted ( I'm improving yay! ). The material is made of traditional prints. I guess you will be asking why print again? Well it is because it is accessible and affordable here and for now it is my mumu button (weakness) when it comes to chosing fabrics and since I'm a learner of some sort, it makes it easy for me to sew since it is cotton and finally where I preside, that is the most common fabric and it is of different grades. You yourself knows that the print itself is eye catching.

Once again happy birthday to me.

Purple Lace Dress

This dress was inspired by the burda design #101 2011. The top is lace while the gathered skirt is cotton print.

Yes I'm playing with the effects.

Its Second Half of 2013

Welcome to the month of July everyone. This is the second half. The resolutions that you made during the first half how many have been accomplished? Hmmm. Part of mine was to be better my sewing skills. What kills it is my procrastination. I always postpone things but during the first half I was able to improve on doing what I set out to do.

I have learnt a lesson. I shouldn't just hope to change but work towards that change I want. Perfection is a journey that is done through constant practice. This month at least I would sew weekly ie one garment a week. I have committed myself thus I hold myself accountable.

Trash to treasure

My best friend's inlaw's tailor ruined her clothe that she gave to him to sew. It was just top and pants but the pants had a problem with its structure so in anger she dumped it with the tailor after a long banter of curses on him. My best friend took it but it still had a problem so she gave it to me. I'm gonna convert the rejected to the most coveted. The thing is she just gave me the pants . One womans trash is another woman's treasure.

I am gonna call this Project Potential. Cus I believe it is not the end for this fabric. I am currently on one project though I didn't name it cus no big story there still a story anyway. Saw a style on kamdora site and decided to sew it don't get ideas for the name lol. I feel bad for her all her money just gone like that. For an average Nigerian, you understand what living in Abuja is like. Everything is on the high side as if everyone is a senator mschew. That will be another story.

Project Potential will be after the kamdora.
